What's New?

An average day for me is not that average; compared to those working a regular job or practicing their musical crafts.  Often times I forget that even though Boise is a smaller scene, everyone does not know everyone or do they get the opportunity to catch up or network with new people constantly.  Some of my friends that I would say are the from the backbone of my work have ventured into new projects and other friends that I may see occasionally at a show, I don't get enough time to inform them on my latest projects or people they should meet.  The biggest thing I've realized is some of my closest music friends have not even met one another.  I guess this goes to show as a scene it is important to check out EVERYONE'S music at least once.  As a resource I would also like to share my information with my music friends but many times I forget who I've kept in the loop on specific projects because of the short time I have to talk with them.  Often times we catch up at an event in which we are occupied enjoying the music and the casual environment listening to music with some great company, a conversation of 'business' doesn't fit the time or place.  I've decided that I will start keep my friends and future music friends informed by using my blog.

Current activities- in short:

-Traveling SXSW w/ Finn Riggins and Revolt Revolt; backpack journalism will be published in the Boise State student newspaper and radio.

-Touring for 2.5 weeks w/ Revolt Revolt along the Pacific Coast

-Booking for Manhandle(members of March Fourth Marching Band; PDX)

-Researching/booking for 2 new acoustic artists from outside of Boise

-Building a cross-promotions network w/ locally owned/managed business in Boise with the music scene.

-Producing 2 radio shows for Boise State student radio and newspaper University Pulse including 'Electric Vein'(electronic music) and Backstage Pass(interviews)

-Developing a music community collective with a few key people in the Boise scene.

There are many new things to share in the coming months but right now everything is still in the 'work-in-progress' stage.  I look forward to my new adventures on the road when I tour and share them with you on the Crossroads Angel network as well.  I hope you all see something from this site that you find as a major benefit in helping you grow in the music industry.  For me I think the benefit Crossroads Angel will provide is the opportunity to stay in touch with everyone specifically in the industry I'm working in and reporting information in which they can use for themselves.  When I go on tour I will have the opportunity to reach out to other scenes and connect people with one another as well as report new resources for our members in the network.
